Combat Sports Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR)

Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR)

If you live in the ACT but perform the activities of a Controlled Sports Official or Contestant in another state or territory or are a Controlled Sports Promoter in any state or territory, you may be eligible for the Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR) Scheme. Automatic Mutual Recognition (act.gov.au)

AMR allows workers who hold an occupational registration or licence in one Australian state or territory to work in other Australian states or territories without needing to pay additional fees or apply for a separate registration.

To use AMR in the ACT you will need to set up an ACT Digital Account and notify the ACT Government of your intent to carry out your occupation in the ACT via this form.

If you live in NSW, VIC, WA or SA and hold a contestant or official registration you do not need to rely on the Automatic Mutual Recognition Scheme to work in the ACT. Your licence is automatically recognised under the Controlled Sports Act 2019. There is more information here, Registration for Officials and Contestants - Sport and Recreation (act.gov.au)

If you are not eligible or don’t wish to apply for the AMR Scheme but still wish to work in the ACT, you may need to register and pay a fee in the ACT. Further information can be found here.
