Sport and Recreation are committed to supporting a healthy, active and productive community beyond organised sport, to other, non-structured ways of getting Canberrans active and outdoors.
Connecting and Building Recreation: A vision for the Territory outlines the ACT Government's commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Canberrans by supporting more people to see recreation as a fun and easy way to engage in active living.
In line with ACT Government's recreation vision, Sport and Recreation will continue to support the development of, investment in and delivery of active recreation programs and activities.
Recreation Users Stakeholder Group
The purpose of the Recreation Users Stakeholder Group (RUSG) is to provide a regular forum to discuss matters that relate to active recreation participation and the management of recreation on public land and water in the ACT. The forum will be an opportunity to:
- Exchange information between Recreation Users and ACT Government;
- Raise issues of concern that relate to the sector as a whole;
- Seek input on Government strategic direction and planning for programs and infrastructure;
- Provide updates on policies, procedures and links to issues locally and nationally.
If your club/organisation is interested in attending a meeting or contributing to the meeting agenda please contact Sport and Recreation on (02) 6205 0344 or subscribe to updates here.
